We’re hitting the campaign trail – on bikes! Take a relaxed pace tour of Tempe’s bike trails with Councilmember Doreen Garlid, marshalled by Tempe Bicycle Action Group (TBAG) and hosted by Dave & Nancy Puffer. Wear your Garlid for Tempe t-shirt (if you don’t have one, let us know and we’ll provide one).
The purpose of this bike ride is to gain visibility and awareness of councilmember Garlid’s re-election campaign, no door-knocking or other campaign activities required, just ride with us and enjoy Tempe by bike. You can join us for all of the ride or a portion of it. All bike/trike riders welcome!
Before the ride, TBAG will provide us with a five-minute safety briefing and complementary support for any minor bike maintenance issues that may arise, as well as bike safety takeaways and information. Thank you, TBAG!
Planned bike ride route:
We’ll start the ride in south Tempe, gathering in the Ken McDonald Golf Course parking lot (800 E. Divot Drive, right by the Western Canal path) at 10:30 a.m.
We’ll then proceed north with a brief stop at Fate Brewing (201 E. Southern Ave.) around 11:00 a.m.
Then we’ll proceed north with a brief stop at Tempe Center for the Arts (700 W. Rio Salaado Parkway) around 11:45 a.m.
We’ll cross the pedestrain bridge to the north side of Tempe Town Lake, loop back, and end the ride at Pedal Haus Brewery (730 S. Mill Avenue #102) around 12-12:30 p.m. Stay & join us for some lunch, if you’d like!
